EYT Federation President Gönül Boran Özüpak underlined that the uncertainties regarding the process still continue and said, “President Erdoğan stated that the problem will be resolved this week, but there are still no content-related statements in the statements made.”

Studies on the Retirement Age Victims (EYT) are continuing. President Erdoğan announced that the regulation would be finalized within this week, but the victims pointed out that there were uncertainties regarding the regulation and that the situation continued to be uneasy. Pointing out that the process regarding EYT has ended with uncertainty, EYT Federation President Gönül Boran Özüpak underlined that the uncertainties regarding the process still continue and said, “President Erdoğan stated that the problem will be resolved this week, but there are still no content-related statements in the statements made. Will before September 99 be out of scope? Or we are worried about whether we will be stuck with the age limit. President and Minister of Labor and Social Security are the executive authorities that will put the final point on the EYT issue, but how the process will unfold remains unclear.”

A NEW WAITING PERIOD IS ADDED EVERY DAY

Expressing that the existing uncertainty causes new question marks, Özüpak stated that they are afraid that the process will prolong further and said, “Will this issue, which we have been waiting for years, come as a new surprise or they will leave us to 2023. The never-ending, unending road has now been added in December. While waiting for the solution of our problem, a new waiting period is added every day. Now, new question marks arose in our minds upon the President's statements that the 'EYT problem will be resolved within this week'. We are wondering how our problem will be solved while the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) is in recess and the parliament is on recess.”
