In the closing statement of the "Jeddah Security and Development Summit" held in Saudi Arabia, it was stated that all "unilateral" practices that undermine the two-state solution in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict should be stopped.

While emphasizing a solution to the crises in Iraq, Yemen, Syria and Lebanon and calling for deepening cooperation against terrorist incidents in the Middle East region, no direct criticism was directed at Israel, which is the real source of terrorism.

The closing statement of the summit, attended by Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, Jordan, Egypt, Iraq and US President Joe Biden, was published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia.

In the statement, it was noted that these countries held the summit upon the invitation of King Salman bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia, in order to confirm their historical partnership and deepen their cooperation in all fields.

It was stated that the leaders attending the summit were pleased that Biden emphasized the importance that the United States attaches to the long-standing strategic partnership in the Middle East and its commitment to the security of its partners.

The leaders emphasized the importance of taking the necessary measures to ensure peace and stability in the region and developing cooperation between the countries participating in the summit.

According to the statement, US President Biden reiterated his country's commitment to work to achieve just, comprehensive and lasting peace in the Middle East, while Arab leaders noted that the Palestinian-Israeli problem should be resolved on the basis of a two-state formula.

Leaders also pointed to the importance of halting all unilateral measures that undermine the two-state solution, respecting the historic status quo in Jerusalem and its holy sites, and in this context the Hashemite tutelage, and supporting the Palestinian economy and the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA).

A CALL IS MADE TO IRAN AGAIN

Expressing their support for the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and efforts to prevent the proliferation of nuclear weapons in the region, the leaders called on Iran to cooperate fully with the International Atomic Energy Agency and the countries of the region.

EMPHASIS ON SOLUTIONS TO CRISES

In the statement, which emphasized the sovereignty, security and stability of Iraq, it was stated that it supported the efforts to fight terrorism. A ceasefire in Yemen and the establishment of a Presidential Council were welcomed, and a lasting political solution was hoped for.
