Speaking at the ceremony, IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu said that Unkapanı Köprülü Junction is one of the important axes of Istanbul and that the negativity to be experienced here affects the region a lot.
Noting that the bridge was exhausted in terms of earthquake, static and structural fatigue, and that it was dangerous in terms of life and property safety, İmamoğlu said, "We took action immediately. We put the first stage into service quickly last year. But this is a holistic junction. The issue here is the crossing of the tram line, which was built together with this intersection. So a very complex task has been solved here. In this project, 'Why doesn't the tram walk all the way to Eminönü?' When we talked, I was informed that this moment of transition and the processes here were not designed and concluded. Friends quickly started the project work here."
İmamoğlu stated that there are many issues that need to be resolved as of the moment of the project work, and he said that ‘clover’ named bridge junction will be made with a quality that will provide healthy access in all aspects.
