The coronavirus epidemic, which spread across the world in a short time, hit the door of the countries and destroyed the economies, increased the demand for the IMF!
IMF President Kristalina Georgieva said that the Covid-19 outbreak was causing an economic crisis "worse and unprecedented than the 2008 global financial crisis" worldwide, and that more than 90 countries applied for help.
"We have never encountered such a growing demand for emergency funding support so far," said Georgieva.

“THE PANDEMIC IS BEYOND THE HEALTH CRISIS”
The WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus recalled that the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases has exceeded 1 million and the number of people who lost their lives over 50 thousand, “We know that this is much more than a health crisis. We are all aware of the deep social and economic consequences of the pandemic.”
Ghebreyesus said that many countries are pleased that people do the free Covid-19 test and treatment, regardless of whether they have health insurance, citizenship or residence. “We encourage such measures. This crisis requires an unprecedented crisis and unprecedented responsibility.”
Emphasizing that the most vulnerable countries against coronavirus are emerging and developing countries, Georgieva noted that the Covid-19 epidemic caused an economic crisis “much worse and unprecedented than the 2008 global financial crisis” on a global scale.
