The US, which has been terrorizing Afghanistan for years, fled the region after more than twenty years, while the Taliban took control of the country. While the process that emerged with the coming of the Taliban to the power of administration is closely followed, there are many points of interest regarding the Afghanistan issue. İsmail Mansur Özdemir, President of the International Social, Political and Sectoral Research Platform (USSAP), who we asked about the details of what happened in Afghanistan, said that those who read about the region were wanted to be imprisoned in the Cold War climate, and noted that the basic parameters of the civilization axis, which we belong to, should be taken as a basis when looking at a geography.
“AFGHANISTAN IS PART OF THE TURKISTAN LINE”
Ismail Mansur Özdemir underlined that the geography of Afghanistan has been under the sovereignty of the British, Russians and the Americans, respectively, starting from the last century, and noted that Afghanistan is also a part of the Turkestan line.
"When we consider the previous century in the region, we see the British as the dominant power. It should be noted that the Afghan kings who fled from the British afterward were held by the Russians. Russian sphere of influence... Underlying this situation lies the Russian effort to build the Soviet conflict on multiple nations. Apart from this, there is another dimension. Afghanistan is actually part of the Turkestan line. When we think of Turkestan, we only think of East Turkestan. When we say Turkistan, we have to think of both the West and the East," Özdemir said.
WHAT LEAD THE AFGAN PEOPLE TO VICTORY?
Özdemir also spoke about the factors that led the people of Afghanistan to victory over the USA. Emphasizing the important characteristics of Afghans, Özdemir said that modest life is one of them.
"The Afghan people, with their modest resources, but with their Muslim, Hanafi, Sunni and resilient morals, strong natures, and by turning the simplicity of the geography they live into an advantage, experienced a great victory. Living modestly increases the strength of people's resilience," he added.
