Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu discussed Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan with his U.S. counterpart on Thursday, according to diplomatic sources.
The sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking with the media, said Mevlut Cavusoglu and Rex Tillerson spoke over the phone.
The telephone call came after Cavusoglu's trip to Iraq on Wednesday.
U.S. Secretary of Defense James Mattis was in Turkey on Wednesday.
