Uyghur organizations operating in Turkey issued a joint press release, reminding the Communist Chinese persecution in East Turkestan.
Uyghur organizations in Turkey issued a joint press release on the occasion of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi's visit to Turkey.
"As East Turkestan-Uyghur organizations, this press release has been prepared in order to inform the state officials and the Turkish public against the "GENOCIDE AND CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY" policies implemented by China against the Uyghur and other Muslim Turkish peoples in East Turkestan and to put forward our demands," the organization stated.
ARE GORY CRIMES FORGOTTEN?
The following statements are included in the entire press release:
"Since 2017, China has carried out large-scale arrests of millions of Uighurs and other Muslim Turkish people, killing in Nazi-type Chinese concentration camps and prisons, torture, enforced disappearance, forced labor, forced sterilization, forced marriage with Chinese, sexual harassment, rape, deprivation of children from their families. It is known that in addition to inhuman practices such as segregation and confinement to assimilation camps, he imprisoned thinkers, scientists, teachers, doctors, writers and religious scholars, who are considered the brain of a nation, in concentration camps and sentenced them to tens of years or even life imprisonment.
At the same time, it has been implementing the policy of total annihilation in a planned and systematic way against the group that keeps the nationality alive and adds value, such as well-known and popular artists, athletes, business people, tradesmen and community leaders, and that this is behavior that constitutes "genocide and crimes against humanity". Although it is tried to be denied and manipulated, the testimonies of camp victims and witnesses are fixed by the reports of researchers and international organizations, documents obtained by journalists and top secret documents leaked from the Chinese police archives. Although some of those who were imprisoned in the camps were released after the reactions from the world, most of them were sentenced to long-term prison sentences as a result of a so-called show trial.
In its report, the UN Commissioner for Human Rights stated that China has reliable evidence for "serious human rights violations" and "crimes against humanity" in East Turkestan. The Independent Uyghur Tribunal, which was established in London on December 9, 2021, has recognized the policies implemented by Uyghur and other Muslim Turkish peoples in East Turkestan as GENOCIDE AND CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY. In the statement signed by 50 countries at the UN, China's "grave and systematic" human rights violations were condemned and it was demanded that it should release the Uyghur Turks and "everyone who has been arbitrarily deprived of their liberty".
The UN proposal to investigate the human rights violations of China, which Turkey also supported, was rejected as most Muslim countries were on the Chinese side. The destruction of thousands of mosques in East Turkestan, the confiscation of our holy book, the Qur'an, and the silence of Muslim countries against the prohibitions of freedom of worship is also incomprehensible.
The Republic of Turkey, which believes in human rights, justice, freedom and the rule of law and is advancing in this direction, is of great importance in terms of the East Turkestan issue."
