Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Hilmi Karslı, Vice President of Religious Affairs, said that they aim to reach 3.5 million this year in the summer Qur'an courses attended by 2.5 million students last year.
Karslı, at the opening ceremony of the summer Qur'an courses organized by the Presidency of Religious Affairs at the Ramazanoğlu Mosque Conference Hall, wished that these courses would be instrumental in creating the joy of the Qur'an in the hearts of children across Turkey.
Noting that the courses have been one of the most important fields of activity of the Presidency of Religious Affairs since the 1950s, Karslı said, "Last year, around 2.5 million students attended our summer Quran courses. I hope this year, as the presidency, our target is to reach 3.5 million. At this point, I would like to express that we need to make an effort. Today, we are happy to launch this Quran courses program. We are happy to meet our children, who are the light of our eyes, in our mosques, which are the source of peace, mercy and abundance. Hopefully, our mosques in every corner of our country will be happy with our children this year, as every year, on the occasion of summer Quran courses. Their voices will echo in the peaceful domes of our mosques, our children will meet our supreme book, the Qur'an, in our mosques, and they will illuminate their minds and hearts with its light."
“WE SEE IT AS OPPORTUNITY FOR SPIRITUAL AND MATERIAL DEVELOPMENT”
Karslı stated that with these courses, they aim to raise people who know themselves, Allah, know their prophet, are at peace with themselves and pursue goodness.
Expressing that they want to guide children on their life journeys, Karslı continued his words as follows:
"For this purpose, we have made all our preparations both in terms of space and materials. We are excitedly waiting for our babies to come to our mosque. Thanks to the Qur'an and religious education, we have vast opportunities and countless blessings today. We are at the service of our nation with our thousands of mosques and officials, our Quran courses and teachers. As the Presidency of Religious Affairs, we are trying to make the most of technological opportunities in terms of course materials to be used in our summer Quran courses. We have prepared the educational program, books and materials of our courses, taking into account the level, interest and age of our children. Hopefully, our children will learn, have fun and improve their social skills in our Quran courses. They will learn the Qur'an and worship in our mosques, but they will also experience the beauties of friendship, cooperation and cooperation in the mosque gardens together. In this respect, we see our summer Quran courses as a great opportunity for the spiritual and moral development of our children."
