Turkey was overwhelmed with the earthquakes that took place in Kahramanmaraş and Hatay last month.
While our country was trying to heal its wounds in unity and solidarity, foreign actors with ambitions on Turkey took advantage of the chaos.
While it was revealed that the Israeli regime smuggled historical artifacts from Turkey before, Greece also signed a scandal that was expected of it.
While our country was struggling with the earthquake disaster that occurred last month, Greece made a scandalous move.
Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias, who came to Istanbul on Sunday, March 5, 2023, described Istanbul as "Constantinople" and the Patriarch as "Ecumenical".
While the Turkish authorities unfortunately remained silent in the face of Dendias' arrogant attitude, retired Rear Admiral Assoc. Dr. Cihat Yaycı drew attention to the “New Rome Project”.
ARROGANT REMARKS FROM DENDIAS
Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias, who came to Istanbul on Sunday, March 5, 2023, attended the service held at the Fener Greek Patriarchate for those who died in the earthquake and in the train boiler in Greece.
While the Greek media announced Dendias' visit to Istanbul the day before, "Dendias will meet with the Ecumenical Patriarch in Constantinople tomorrow", Dendias said in a statement on the subject, "I will go to Constantinople and meet with the Ecumenical Patriarch there."
In addition to the arrogance of Istanbul being referred to as Constantinople, the fact that the Fener Greek Patriarch was described as 'Ecumenical' drew criticism.
TURKISH AUTHORITIES FAILED TO REACT
Dendias, who did not delete the Constantinople post he made on social media despite the reactions from Turkish citizens, went directly to the Fener Greek Patriarchate, attended the service, and returned to Greece without meeting with any of his equals in the official authority.
While it was noteworthy that the Turkish authorities remained silent in the face of Dendias and the arrogance of the Greek media, retired Rear Admiral Assoc. Dr. Cihat Yaycı also reacted to the disgrace.
Yaycı, on the subject, "We would have expected that the authorities would not allow the arrival of this impudent Dendias unless he deleted his tweet in Greek, calling Istanbul "Constantinople" and the Patriarch "Ecumenical Patriarch" he said.
Underlining that the target of the project is Istanbul and Turkey, Yaycı also expressed that the first step of the 'New Rome Project' is the issue of the 'Ecumenical Patriarchate'.
Yaycı, in his article on the subject, "The Fener Greek Patriarchate, which is trying to gain a universal quality with ecumenism, is being taken out of the authority of the Republic of Turkey and it is tried to be transformed into an autonomous structure and even a Vatican-type state. This means the deterioration of the unitary structure of the Republic of Turkey, starting from Istanbul," he added.
MİLLİ GAZETE FREQUENTLY WARNS
The 'Ecumenical Issue', one of Greece's treacherous ambitions towards Turkey, is constantly on the agenda of the Milli Gazete.
Our newspaper, which meticulously follows the developments within the framework of the aforementioned issue, drew attention to the 'Fener Greek Patriarchate and the Ecumenical Danger' with its latest file on February 1, 2023.
In the relevant news of the Milli Gazete, "Especially since the Tanzimat Era, the Fener Greek Patriarchate, which has been serving the ambitions of foreign powers, will not stop its passion to resurrect Byzantium if necessary precautions are not taken or concessions are made," it was said.
GREEKS WANT THE AYASOFIA MOSQUE TO BE A CHURCH AGAIN
The Fener Greek Patriarchate carries out activities against the Turkish nation today, just as it did in the years when the Ottoman Empire was on the verge of weakening.
There are both demands for the opening of the Heybeliada Seminary and claims to be an ecumenical patriarch. Serving the ambitions of Greece, the Patriarchate wants to become a Vatican-like structure by obtaining the ecumenical title.
With the opening of Heybeliada Seminary, which was closed in 1971, the Fener Greek Patriarchate made plans to accept foreign students here, as well as turning the Hagia Sophia Mosque into a church again.
Again, the Patriarchate's short-term plans include removing the obligation to be a Turkish citizen in the election of the patriarch.
