As of 2020, March 4 was declared as ‘World Obesity Day’ to draw attention to obesity. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the prevalence of obesity worldwide has tripled since 1975, with a rapid increase. In the press release published by Reis Food regarding the problem of obesity, which is becoming more and more widespread among people, information was given about the social responsibility projects carried out on the subject. Reis Food Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors Işılay Reis Yorgun said, “According to the 2020 data of Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Turkey ranks 9th among 28 countries with a rate of 56 percent. The number of overweight and obese individuals is increasing in Turkey as well as in the world. In the latest report published by WHO, Turkey has been the country with the highest obesity rate among the adult population in Europe with a rate of 32 percent. England is in the second place with 28 percent, and Hungary is in the third place with 26 percent.”
