CERTIFICATION MARKET EXCLUSION 6 BILLION DOLLAR SIZE
Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci, who noted that 80 percent of Halal certified products sold in halal market are produced by companies of non-Muslim countries, said in a statement about the World Halal Summit to be held in Istanbul on November 23-25, "About 80 percent of the approximately 4 trillion dollar halal product market of non-Muslim country firms. BUILDING A COMMON CERTIFICATION SYSTEM IS NOW UNAVAILABLE
Zeybekci stressed that there are many standards and logos in the halal sector and that it is not possible to establish a common system of documentation between Islamic countries at the moment and stressed that this area wants to take into consideration the Standards of Islamic Countries Standards and Metrology Institute (SMIIC), the subsidiary of the Islamic Cooperation Organization.
Zeybekci, who stated that the Halal Products Fair will be realized concurrently with the summit, said that it is expected to attend non-Muslim countries besides fuara Muslim countries.
