Ombudsman Şeref Malkoç, who came together with the members of the press, gave information about their activities in 2021.

Chief Ombudsman Şeref Malkoç met with members of the press within the scope of the 2021 evaluation meeting. Malkoç stated that they have resolved thousands of rights grievances with the Ombudsman and noted that they have both solved the grievances of the citizens and reduced the workload of the judiciary. 
 
Stating that they received 18,843 applications in 2021, Malkoç said, “The total number of applications made in a period of approximately 9 years is 189,595. In addition to the 18,843 complaint applications made to our institution in 2021, a total of 21,782 files, including 2,939 files transferred from 2020, were examined in this period, and 19,740 of the applications were concluded."
 

“WE FIND A WAY TO PEACE WITH FRIENDLY SOLUTIONS” 

 
Emphasizing that they act with the understanding of "the citizen's lawyer is the administration's friend" in the disputes submitted to them, "Our institution finds solutions to problems without the need for a recommendation, with a friendly resolution decision, and ensures that citizens have quick access to justice,  contributes to its realization. The average time to finalize applications in 2021 is 57 days. In the amicable settlement, the average time was 47 days. In addition, 57,8 percent of the applications that were resolved through amicable means were concluded within 30 days or less. The number of applications resolved through friendly means in 2021 was 3,160,” Malkoç added.
