Members of ‘Öz Sağlık-İş’ (Healthcare Workers Union), who want to expand the scope of the raise regulation that is planned for healthcare workers, came together in front of the Ministry of Health. Making a press statement at the protest held, Öz Sağlık-İş Union Chairman Devlet Sert demanded that the raise regulation should cover all healthcare workers in a way that would not disturb the working peace.
“WE FEEL DEEP SADNESS”
Stating that they are deeply saddened by the discrimination among healthcare workers in the last regulation, Sert said, “We are of course very happy that this extraordinary effort of our doctors is considered valuable. The reason for our sorrow is that the additional hike is only intended for physicians. The reason for our sorrow is that the regulation, which is announced as the good news for healthcare workers, does not cover any healthcare workers.”
“SOCIAL SERVICE WORKERS MUST BE INCLUDED”
Sert, who wants to be included of social service workers whose services are in the background during the pandemic period, in raise regulation “Social service workers are also affected by the pandemic. During this period, they took care of the elderly, disabled and children of our state, and served all disadvantaged groups like their own parents and their own children. In some places, they went to quarantine watchs of up to 30 days with their suitcases in hand, and they entrusted their own children to their neighbors. If there is an additional raise due to the pandemic, social service workers should also get their due,” he added.
