While making important evaluations regarding the public collective bargaining process that will begin on August 1, Yakışır thanked Yılmaz for the fact that the Milli Gazete constantly brought up the problems of public employees.
During the visit, Diyanet-Sen Deputy Chairman Cebrail Yakışır stated that they have 83 thousand 588 members as of May 15, and that they will demand that the contracted workers be appointed to the staff in the collective agreement and that they will demand the introduction of a solidarity fee system.
“There is 86 percent unionization in the Diyanet”
Cebrail Yakisir, Deputy Chairman of Diyanet-Sen, "As of May 15, we have 83 thousand 588 members. There is a unionization rate of 86% in Diyanet. What we care most about is values unionism. Although it is our main duty to defend the rights of our employees, we continue to work for the treatment of a bleeding wound wherever there is a wound," he said.
“MOSQUE STAFF NOT ONLY WORK IN THE MOSQUE, BUT ALSO IN THE SQUARE”
* Emphasizing that religious officials work together with the filiation teams during the pandemic period, Yakışır said, "Our friends in the filiation team worked day and night. The religious officer has to work not only in the mosque but also in the square."
“CONTRACTED PEOPLE SHOULD BE STAFFED ASAP”
* Yakışır also made evaluations about the public collective bargaining process that will start on August 1, "The 6th term collective agreement process will begin on 1 August. As the authorized union on behalf of the public employer and public employee, we will sit at the table with the government and defend the rights of the employees. Honorary Qur'an teachers and deputy imams related to Diyanet should be recruited for the last time. Honorary instructors, who are around 7,500 in total, are paid well below the minimum wage. We will bring to the table again our demand that the contracted workers promised by the AK Party deputies be recruited," he added.
“WE WILL REQUEST SOLIDARITY FEE”
Pointing out that public employees, who are not members of any union, benefit from the gains of collective bargaining, Yakışır stated that the solidarity fee should be brought to civil servant unions as well. Yakışır, "As the authorized union, we are talking about the problems day and night and working to correct the deficiencies, but those who are not members of any union also benefit from these rights. In other words, if the person wants to benefit from the gains of collective bargaining, the authorized union must pay dues. Workers have this dues, but not civil servants," he said.
