The forest fire, which started on July 28 in Antalya's Manavgat district, still could not be brought under control. The fires, which started almost every day in different parts of the district and spread with the effect of extreme heat and wind, bring great grievances.
The forest fire, which started in the northeast of Manavgat on the night of 30 July, soon affected Gebece, Aksaz, Karaöz and the surrounding villages and districts. In regions where dozens of houses and barns were turned into ashes, citizens reacted to the authorities and complained to our newspaper.
EVERYTHING TURNED INTO ASH
Citizens who stated that they were evacuated from their villages and neighborhoods after the forest fires started, "We left our homes, our fields, our animals. They didn't let us take anything. 'They are entrusted to us,' they said. But everything burned, you see. How is this protection? If we had not left our homes, the fire would not have grown so much, they expressed their reaction.
