A new page was opened in the relations between the two countries with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's visit to Egypt yesterday.

Türkiye and Egypt are now entering a period of "strategic friendship" in political, economic, military, diplomatic and many other aspects.

President Erdogan, whose last visit to Egypt was 12 years ago as the Prime Minister of the Republic of Türkiye, was described as a "historic visit" by the Arab press as it was his first visit to Egypt as president.

WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED IF ANKARA-CAIRO RELATIONS HAVE NOT BEEN DETERROSED?

While President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was welcomed by Sisi in Cairo, another important step was taken in the normalization process between Türkiye and Egypt.

Relations on the Ankara-Cairo line, which witnessed a crisis for a long time, led to losses at many points.

So much so that "If the relations between the two countries had not deteriorated, could Ankara have prevented such damage to the Muslim Brotherhood?" The question comes to mind.

LET ISLAMIC COUNTRIES, NOT THE WEST, WIN IN THE EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN

On the other hand, it is thought that the position of Egypt, which is on the side of Greece in the energy sharing struggle in the Eastern Mediterranean, is also shaped by the negative relations with Ankara.

Following Erdoğan's visit, the signing of the 'Maritime Authority Agreement' between Egypt and Türkiye, which will provide great gains to both sides in the Eastern Mediterranean, is expected to take place soon.

THIS ALLIANCE MAY BE A SOLUTION TO CRISIS IN ISLAMIC COUNTRIES

It is a fact that the allied power consisting of Türkiye and Egypt may have the potential to redesign political developments in many Islamic countries.

In the lost years when Türkiye and Egypt were in crisis, in Syria where civil war has prevailed since 2011, in the Yemen Civil War that has been going on since 2015, and in the never-ending civil war in Libya since the overthrow of Qaddafi. The “Türkiye-Egypt Alliance” could have had a much more constructive impact in the conflicts.

TÜRKİYE-EGYPT JOINT FORCE MAY BE THE FORCE TO DETERREL MURDERER ISRAEL

While Israeli terrorism in the Palestinian territories continues with all its brutality, it remains a fact confirmed by international authorities that the institutional power formed in partnership with Egypt and Türkiye can be a deterrent force for Israel.

Comments are made as follows:

"Türkiye and Egypt, two Islamic countries that have been deprived of many gains in the devastating crisis that has lasted for 12 years, should quickly seek compensation in order to turn the lost years into gains again."
