While teachers boycotted the decision to close the Turkish language class in Gostivar High School, where Muslims are educated in the Gostivar region of North Macedonia, non-governmental organizations also condemned the decision.

The decision to close the classroom in a high school where Muslims are educated in the Gostivar region of North Macedonia caused a great reaction. Teachers and non-governmental organizations in the region also strongly condemned the decision. The Turkish ambassador to Skopje, on the other hand, made a remarkable visit to Tefeyyüz Primary School the day after the decision.
 

TURKISH EDUCATION CLASS CLOSED

 
In the city of Gostivar, which is located in the northwest of North Macedonia and has a deep-rooted Turkish population, the closure of a classroom teaching Turkish caused reactions. Following the closure of a classroom teaching Turkish at Gostivar High School, Turkish teachers teaching at the school did not remain silent and decided to boycott the situation. Many non-governmental organizations also supported the teachers' boycott decision.
 

TEACHERS: “WE WILL BOYCOOT UNTIL OUR RIGHTS ARE RETURNED”

 
Teachers, who boycotted the closure of the classroom providing Turkish education, said in a statement; "As high school teachers, we have decided to boycott education due to the closure of our Turkish-language classroom in our school. We declare that we will boycott until our right that has been taken from us is returned, and we invite all parents, political parties, non-governmental organizations and all our people who are devoted to education to support our just cause."
 

“WE STRONGLY CONDEMN THE DECISION OF CLOSING”

 
North Macedonia Turkish Youth Association condemned the decision and made the following statement:
 
"Although there are sixty Turkish students studying at Gostivar High School; We strongly condemn the decision to close the Turkish high school 1st class and call for unity in the face of this scalpel attack on our democratic rights."
