Oğuzhan Asiltürk (born 25 May 1935 – Died 1 October 2021) is a Turkish politician. He served as the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Industry and Technology, and most recently, he served as the Chairman of the High Advisory Board (YİK) of the Felicity (Saadet) Party.
He attended primary and secondary school and high school in Malatya. He completed his university education at Istanbul Technical University Faculty of Civil Engineering. He graduated from Istanbul Technical University, Faculty of Civil Engineering. He worked as a freelance consultant and engineer for a while.
14th and 15th Term Ankara; He served as deputy of Malatya in the 19th, 20th and 21st terms and at the Ministries of Interior, Industry and Technology.
He was detained for one year, tried and acquitted due to the MSP Case. He was banned from politics for 10 years, and the ban was lifted with the 1987 Constitutional referendum. After his ban was lifted, he was elected as the general secretary of the RP in the first congress. 11 years later, he was elected as a deputy from Malatya again. He joined the Virtue Party. After the death of National Vision (Milli Görüş) leader Prof. Dr. Necmettin Erbakan, he was one of the founders of the Saadet Party and was elected as the chairman of the YİK of the Saadet Party.
Asiltürk, who was taken to Ankara City Hospital due to shortness of breath due to Covid-19 on September 2021, 19, died of a heart attack on October 1, 2021 at around 09.00.
Oğuzhan Asiltürk was married and had four children.
CARRIED OUT IMPORTANT WORKS FOR TURKEY
Oğuzhan Asiltürk, the late Chairman of the National Vision (Milli Görüş) Foundation and the Saadet Party High Advisory Board, carried out important works for Turkey throughout his political life.
The late Asiltürk, who fought hard for the realization of the Cyprus Peace Operation when he was Minister of Interior, was instrumental in the Council of Ministers taking a very noble and dignified decision only 6 days after the operation. By the order of the Minister of Interior Oğuzhan Asiltürk, the American Base Incirlik was closed and the American flag was lowered and the Turkish flag was hung in its place. Asiltürk also carried out very important works for the industrial and technological development of Turkey. During his years as the Minister of Industry and Technology, the deceased Asiltürk pioneered the establishment of Türk Aerospace Industries, which is proud these days.
