Former Prime Minister and Konya deputy Ahmet Davutoglu did not attend the group meeting of the party held in Parliament yesterday. In addition to Davutoglu, Former Prime Ministers Ali Babacan and Bashir Atalay were not present at the AKP group meeting.
The AKP backers interpreted the non-participation of former Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu in the group meeting as "not a candidate" in the elections to be held on 24 June. In the meantime, Davutoglu and 11th President Abdullah Gul meet in Istanbul and request of meeting came from Gul, reports say.
