Discussions continue as to whether there will be an interim increase in the minimum wage in July.

While the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank seem to have closed the doors to the interim raise due to financial discipline, the demands rising from the grassroots brought the issue to the AK Party's agenda.

According to the backstage information reached by Milli Gazete, while the wind within the party is in favor of giving an interim raise, it is expected that there will be persuasion tours for Mehmet Şimşek and his team in the coming days.

It is expected that the intermediate price increase traffic will increase after the holiday and the price increase rate will be around 18 percent.

As July approaches, raises for civil servants and retirees have risen to the top of the agenda. The June inflation rate, which will be announced on July 3, will determine the raise to be given to civil servants and retirees.

According to estimates, a 20 percent raise is expected for civil servants and a 25 percent raise for retirees. It's not just civil servants and retirees who look forward to July either. Millions of minimum wage earners are waiting with great curiosity to see whether there will be an interim increase in their wages, which have become stagnant in the face of increasing inflation.

After the increase in the minimum wage in December of the previous year, the ruling wing made statements in July that there would be no interim increase.

Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek has repeatedly stated in his statements that he does not favor interim raises within the scope of financial discipline.

THE INTERMEDIATE RAISE REQUEST FOUND A REFLECTION IN THE AK PARTY

However, recently, demands for interim raises have begun to come from platforms formed by both workers, unions, and employers such as TÜSİAD and MÜSİAD, in order to stimulate the markets.

So much so that, according to the backstage information obtained by Milli Gazete, the wind began to blow in favor of an interim raise at the AK Party Headquarters, which considered the economy as the primary reason for the decrease in voting rates in the March 31 local elections.

ERDOĞAN AND ŞİMŞEK TEAM WILL BE ATTEMPT TO BE CONVINCED

The ruling staff, who want the interim raise to be made, will first bring the issue to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The staff will defend the necessity of an interim raise and the economic relief of minimum wage earners and retirees in order for the fiscal discipline policy applied to Erdoğan to at least gain support from the society.

18 PERCENT INTERMEDIATE RAISES ARE BEING WORKED ON

Backstage people state that there will be no difficulty in convincing Şimşek and his team after Erdoğan's approval, and point out that steps on the issue will be taken after the holiday.

Remarkable information was also obtained behind the scenes regarding the rate of the interim raise. Accordingly, the inflation rate targeted in the Medium Term Program for the first six months of the year, that is, 36 percent, will be taken as basis.

Since there is an interim increase, work will be carried out on half of this figure, that is, 18 percent.
