The 5th Term Collective Agreement, which has been waiting for months by 26,000 social service workers working in the central and provincial organizations of the Ministry of Family and Social Services, has been signed. The collective bargaining agreement was signed by Derya Yanık, Minister of Family and Social Services, Vedat Bilgin, Minister of Labor and Social Security, Mahmut Arslan, Chairman of Hak-İş Confederation and Devlet Sert, Chairman of Öz Sağlık-İş Union. Negotiations between Öz Sağlık-İş Union and Turkish Union of Public Heavy Industry and Services Sector Employers (TÜHİS), which have been going on since October last year, have stalled, and the workers' side decided to strike after their demands were not accepted. After the strike move of the workers' side, the negotiation table was re-established and an agreement was reached in the collective agreement.

Hak-İş Confederation Chairman Mahmut Arslan stated that a contract in favor of the workers is very important in a period of economically difficult conditions and said, “It is really important to have implemented a model that will protect the rights of employees to the maximum extent by using all social dialogue mechanisms and at the same time ensure the quality and efficiency of their services.” Devlet Sert, Chairman of the Öz Sağlık-İş Union, representing the social service workers, said, “An important step has been taken. Especially in negotiations, new rights are obtained. In the framework of social dialogue, an important step has been taken by operating the social dialogue mechanism between the worker and the employer.”
