Workers union opposes additional requirement in mandatory retirement

The "Memur-Sen" Confederation sent a letter to the Presidency of Administrative Affairs and conveyed the requests for compulsory retirement.

While the "Memur-Sen" labour union sent a letter to the Presidency of Administrative Affairs, requesting the abolition of the compulsory retirement of the contracted personnel and not introducing additional conditions for their transition to the staff, it was stated that the compulsory retirement practice should be terminated for the personnel employed as 4/B as in the case of public workers.
 
The union sent a letter to the Presidency of Administrative Affairs and conveyed the requests for compulsory retirement.
 
In the letter, it was demanded that the compulsory retirement of the contracted personnel be abolished and that no additional conditions be imposed for their transition to the staff, and that the compulsory retirement application for the personnel working within the body of 4/B should be abolished.
 
In the article signed by Memur-Sen Vice Presidents Mehmet Emin Esen and Hacı Bayram Tonbul, the process of transition of contracted employees to staff, which was published in the Official Gazette in the past months, reminded us.
 
"Among the contracted personnel who have passed from 4/C to 4/B positions, the personnel who have been working as of 28.11.2022 and who have been entitled to an old-age or invalidity pension until 26.01.2023, when the Law No. 7433 was published in the Official Gazette, will not be able to benefit from the staffing arrangement," the letter said.
 
Reminding that the age requirement at retirement for employees has been abolished with the regulation of Retirement Age Victims (EYT), and compulsory retirement has been abolished for workers,
 
Employed within the scope of the seventh paragraph of the paragraph (B) of the 4th article of the Civil Servants Law No. 657; Public officials employed in contracted personnel positions due to privatization practices continue to be restricted from working until they are entitled to an old-age or invalidity pension.
