Felicity (Saadet) Party Konya Deputy Abdulkadir Karaduman made evaluations on the agenda at the press conference he held in the Parliament. Referring to the research carried out among the youth at the meeting, Karaduman stated that the government did not produce a solution to the existing problems and said, "One of my two young friends say that they are not happy, and again with a rate of 72,9 percent, saying 'I would like to live abroad if I have the opportunity'. The government, on the other hand, is the authority that will put these results on the table and resolve them. However, the picture that is getting worse and worse is tried to be covered with heroism, the dose of which is increased a little every day.”
“YOUNG PEOPLE ARE STRUGGLING WITH DEBT AND UNEMPLOYMENT”
Pointing out that the young people cannot dream, Karaduman reminded the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's phrase ‘Never give up on your dreams’ for young people and added, "It is important to follow your dreams to the end, but first you need to be able to dream the right dream. You did not leave any room for young people to dream. Young people in debt, grappling with unemployment. Do you want to send young people who dream of living abroad, by saying ‘Never give up on your dreams’ and send them from this country? My young friends! Follow your dreams all the way. Let your biggest dream be to build a peaceful, prosperous Turkey where no citizen would dream of living in another country."
Pointing out that the economic data gave alarm, Karaduman emphasized that the Currency Protected Deposit (KKM) system, which was created against the increasing exchange rates, was not enough to keep the exchange rate, "What was this KKM, an extra interest payment to the citizen on Turkish Liras (TL) deposits, indexed to foreign currency. You tried to keep the foreign currency under control by paying more interest to the citizens. So what happened? As of today, the exchange rate has risen to 15,95 TL, and due to the KKM, billions of TL burden have been added to the budget. The budget, which has already melted one-third due to the exchange rate difference, continues to melt even more as a result of unplanned and unscheduled practices,” he said.
"CITIZEN HAS TO USE LOANS TO SURVIVE”
Referring to the debt ratio of the citizens to the banks, Karaduman stated that the debt of the citizens to the banks has increased and added, "According to the data of the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK), the debt of the citizens to the banks increased by 16 percent compared to the previous year and reached 803 billion TL. The number of people using loans increased by 1 million 300 thousand people. The total debt of our people to banks has increased to 1 trillion 37 billion TL. What does this indicate? This is an indication that the citizen has to use credit even to survive, he is in debt. This is an indication that they have to use loans to meet even their most basic needs. This is a painful indication that he had to use credit even to be able to send his child to school."
Karaduman stated that investments in agriculture and industry decreased in Turkey with the Marshall aids and the implementation of the Barker Report, adding that the decisions taken were implemented to prevent Turkey's development. He said, “Although the governments that came to power during the past period showed various differences in domestic politics, except for the 54th Welfare-Road (Refah-Yol) Government, which lasted for 11 months, they did not show any difference in practice, and they strictly followed the directives given by the West as if they were homework. When you examine the past periods, you will be able to see how the industry, agriculture and animal husbandry was not given the necessary importance and how it became dependent on imports from a self-sufficient country today.”
“EMERGENCY ACTION PLAN IN AGRICULTURE MUST BE PREPARED”
Drawing attention to the foreign-dependent agricultural policies in the field of agriculture by the Justice and Development Party (AKP) government, Karaduman stated that it caused an increase in prices in the field of foreign-dependent agriculture and added, “Today, our country unfortunately imports the most important foodstuffs. The money we paid just for feed raw material has exceeded 4 billion dollars. Again, we have a serious fertilizer import. We pay an average of over 1 billion dollars a year for fertilizer. Import causes a serious increase in input costs, this increase negatively affects agricultural production, and as a result, product prices increase considerably. Especially in the last two years, we have seen how important it is to carry out agricultural production with domestic means. The coming years will be difficult in terms of agriculture and animal husbandry. It is impossible not to see a major food crisis approaching.”
Pointing out that the problems cannot be solved without a new model in the field of agriculture, Karaduman called on the government for an emergency action plan and said, “A production and agricultural development move should be started, where imports will be almost zero, by preparing an Agricultural Action Plan, urgently. Today, we need to see that there is no other way to fight both the cost of living and the price hikes. You cannot solve any problem in a model where our farmer who does not cultivate his land makes more profit than the farmer who cultivates his land. While there is no tax on the fuel of yachts and floors, our farmers are under taxes. You cannot solve any problem in a model where farmers are crushed. You cannot solve any problem in a model where hundreds of millions of tax debts of the holdings are erased in a single item, but the tractor and the land are confiscated due to the debt of the farmer.”
