Saadet Party Deputy Dr. Ali Fazıl Kasap expressed the problems experienced by Batman from the podium at the General Assembly of the Parliament.
Saadet Party Kütahya Deputy Dr. Ali Fazıl Kasap expressed the city's problems from the podium after his field work in Batman.
He noted that although Batman is one of the cities with high potential and has 5 deputies in the Parliament, the city's problems are not brought to the parliamentary agenda.
Kasap, reading the letter sent from Batman from the podium, "There is a 16 km long stream passing around 12 neighborhoods in the city center. Iluh stream has been neglected for years. In 2006, it suffered a flood as a result of intermittent rain and claimed the lives of 11 people, including 5 children. In the flood that occurred on November 11, 2023, 2 people died and 60 people were injured. There is no accounting for material damage. If you ask anyone in Batman, they will tell you that the biggest problem is the Iluh stream. Although it was constantly used in election propaganda during the AK Party period, nothing was done here. You haven't done the reform project for 20 years, you couldn't do it. Batman is a city of this country and this city has been neglected. Another problem of Batman is that, in order to cross a stream on the borders of Batman, Bitlis and Mardin, people have to travel 130 km for an 8 km road to reach approximately 800 thousand decares of land," he said.
“YOUNG PEOPLE REMAIN UNEMPLOYED IN BATMAN”
Continuing his statements about Batman's problems, Kasap continued his words as follows:
"Batman is a city with potential, but due to migration, our people, especially our youth, are trapped in drugs and terrorism. Our young people have to move away from the city because they cannot find work. A city condemned to the elderly. Iraq, Iran and Syria are right next to us, we can enrich our trade with these countries, but you have minimized our dialogues with these countries. We urgently need the 2nd Organized Industrial Zone so that we can produce food, clothing and textiles and provide job opportunities."
