Young people's anxiety about the future is increasing, but unfortunately, the interest in illegal life among our future generations is also increasing at the same rate.

In Turkey, where there are 2 million 525 thousand young people who do not study or work, TV series, movies and songs that encourage crime encourage our young people to engage in illegal ways.

This situation, which is also reflected in statistics and research, reveals that our future generations have become toys in the hands of organized crime groups.

In the news we prepared against the illegal life threat faced by our children and young people, we compiled data and research on the subject...

According to the data of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), 2 million 525 thousand young people in Turkey are neither studying nor working.

This data, which reveals that one in every 5 young people is missing compared to the young population in our country, raises the question 'where is this youth going?' It brought the question to mind once again.

While the gradual deterioration of the economic and social situation in Turkey increases young people's anxiety about the future, TV series, movies and songs that encourage illegal life and crime also encourage illegal ways.

Not only young people, but also children face the threat of being dragged into crime, and our future generations have become toys in the hands of organized crime groups.

YOUNG PEOPLE HAVE BECOME TOYS IN THE HANDS OF CRIMINAL ORGANIZATIONS

Statistics show that illegal lifestyles are becoming increasingly popular among young people.

Young people, who have become toys in the hands of organized crime groups in Turkey, are used in crimes such as drugs, armed attacks, theft, extortion, illegal betting and gambling.

So much so that Turkey's score in the Global Organized Crime Index increased to 7.03 points in 2023. This increase in this score, which was 6.89 in 2021, made Turkey a leader in Europe.

According to the data on the Distribution of Prisoners and Convicts in Penal Institutions by Age Groups, the number of young people between the ages of 18-40 in prison was announced as 184 thousand 39.

When we consider the young people who are wanted and are in the hands of organized crime groups even though they have not yet officially committed a crime, a frightening picture emerges.

THE RATE OF CHILDREN DRAWING INTO CRIME IS INCREASING

According to the data on the Distribution of Prisoners and Convicts in Penal Institutions by Age Groups, the number of children in prison is 2 thousand 541.

According to the data published by TÜİK in 2023, the rate of children being dragged into crime is increasing.

According to data, 206 thousand 853 children were dragged into crime in 2022. Of the children dragged into crime, 37.8 percent were brought to security units for injury, 25.2 percent for theft, and 4.5 percent for drugs.

These data were obtained only from children who were identified and handed over to security units.

Considering that there are many incidents that are not reflected in the data, it is thought that hundreds of thousands of children may be stuck in the swamp of crime.
