Pakistan Embassy in Ankara organized a Kashmir Solidarity Day program. In the program, prayers were said and a moment of silence was observed for those who lost their lives in the earthquake last year.
An event was held at Pakistan's Embassy in Ankara on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day.
Every year in February, Kashmir Solidarity Day is commemorated to reaffirm support for the legitimate struggle of Kashmiris for the realization of their right to self-determination.
Deputy Derya Yanık, Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Human Rights Investigation Commission, who attended the commemoration event, reiterated Turkey's support for Kashmir's legitimate cause of self-determination.
Yanık stated that Turkey has always supported and will continue to support the peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute in line with the wishes of the Kashmiri people.
“INDIA REPRESENTS A HYPOCRITE TYRANNY”
Pakistan's Ambassador to Ankara, Dr. Yousaf Junaid, underlined that Palestine and Kashmir represent endless foreign occupation zones in the modern world.
"Here, brutal military occupations deny the people their basic right to self-determination. Terrorism against innocent civilians in Kashmir represents a complete case of hypocrisy, treachery and tyranny at the hands of India, the self-proclaimed world's largest democracy," Junaid said.
The Ambassador added in his speech that it has been proven throughout history that justice may experience delays, but it is still undeniable and ultimately prevails.
Expressing solidarity with Kashmir, Ambassador Yousaf Junaid reiterated Pakistan's unwavering political, moral and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people until the dispute is resolved in line with the UN Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Ambassador Junaid also thanked the people and government of Turkey for their principled stance on Kashmir.
MEMORIAL TO THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES IN THE EARTHQUAKE
A commemoration program was also organized on the anniversary of the earthquake disaster last year.
In the program, trees were planted, prayers were said and a minute of silence was observed to commemorate those who lost their lives.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador Dr. Yousaf Junaid expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life of more than 50,000 people and the devastating damage caused as a result of the earthquake.
While emphasizing the deep-rooted brotherhood and friendship of Pakistan and Turkey, the Ambassador stated that both countries are like 'two hearts, one soul'.
"Both countries have a glorious tradition of supporting each other under all circumstances. It is Pakistan's responsibility to contribute to the relief efforts for earthquake victims with the spirit of 'Your pain is our pain'," Ambassador Junaid said.
