There is a criticism we receive frequently from our pro-Justice and Development Party (AKP) friends.
They say: You always criticize us, but you do not write anything about the main opposition party!
We partly agree with this criticism of our pro-AKP friends.
It's true, we always criticize AKP.
But shouldn't they be ready for that too?
Since they are in power, the first to be criticized is themselves.
Those in power, those in executive positions, are AKP members!
Would it be right if we left the government and started criticizing the main opposition now? And what of the opposition should we criticize?
Should we blame them for volatility in exchange rates, or for inflation to take off?
We know that our AKP friends will not make such a demand.
They expect us to criticize the main opposition not because of its current position, but because of the atrocities they have committed in the past, or rather to keep the events related to these atrocities alive all the time.
As someone who has expressed these atrocities to a great extent in the past, we do not see it as a healthy approach to bring up the same issues now and again and again.
The necessary things were written on time, and the people made their decision on this matter and condemned them to the main opposition! They have not been able to straighten their backs for many years and cannot see the face of power!
There are some among them who are aware of this situation and want to put themselves in order. We don't know if they will be able to do this.
But we think that the days we live in are to bring the mistakes of the government to the agenda and help them to turn from their mistakes instead of repeating the past mistakes of the main opposition.
In our opinion, an approach such as ‘keep alive the past mistakes of the main opposition, but ignore our mistakes’ is not a healthy approach.
Our pro-AKP friends would have done a better job if they thanked us instead of criticizing us on this issue.
Because the call to ‘ignore our mistakes, but keep the mistakes made by the main opposition years ago alive in memories’ is nothing but an effort to keep the situation that government has fallen into, out of sight.
