There are many reasons that make the media inconsistent which is supporting the ruling party and many reasons for a growing trust crisis between voters and ruling party but one of the main reasons is their conflicting explanations.

We see that the AKP spokespersons and the pro-media use a derogatory statement for the Istanbul elections ”this is a symbolic election”.

In other words, they claim that “whoever wins the election will ultimately have what they say” and they try to seem to ignore the outcome.

Then we see that their discourses have changed.

And they start to say “this is not a matter of choice, it is a matter of security” and they claim that FETÖ is trying to seize Istanbul for the second time!

Which of the claims of the power spokespersons and the pro-media is true? Is this a symbolic election or a security issue?

Looking at these diametrically opposed statements, the electorate is naturally confused and shaken his/her confidence in the ruling party.

If the ruling party spokespersons can decide what to say among themselves first. In other words, if they could come up against their electorates with one thesis, not contradictory theses!

A person can defend one of these theses, we understand that, but if the same person defends both theses, there is a disability.

Indeed, if this election is a symbolic choice for them and they believe that whoever wins will win what they say, they should start with this spirit and not try to intimidate the citizens as ”this is a security issue”.

No, if they really believe that these elections are not an ordinary one, then they should attempt to dilute such a serious event that “this is a symbolic choice”.

One of the explanations that do not fit with the other really makes the electorate confuse to vote.

For this reason, those who did not allow anybody to speak ill of the AKP until yesterday are now speaking ill of the ruling party.

Not only the opposition parties, but also a large number of them have started to oppose the ruling party and began to criticize the actions and discourses.

Power spokespersons should look at their own inconsistencies instead of confronting the opposition because of their negativity.

Those who cannot follow a coherent policy, even on very basic issues, should not have one word to say to anyone. It appears that the ruling party has failed a lot in the “consistency test ”.
