President Erdogan has a call to the whole world.
“Just keep watching us,” he says.
As soon as we heard President Erdogan's call, we said to ourselves, "We were already watching."
Because we have faced such a call before. It was the founding years of AKP! National Vision (Milli Görüş) community was going through difficult times.
Some of our friends declared that they could no longer engage in politics under the umbrella of National Vision and announced that they would continue with a "new party".
I mean, those were the days when they took off their National Vision shirt and threw it away. In a way, they were the days when they sailed from National Vision to Conservative Democracy.
One of them was calling just like President Erdogan does today and saying "just keep watching us".
In the first days of this call, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Abdullah Gül, Bülent Arınç and Abdullatif Şener were all together.
They argued that the common mind was not given due importance in National Vision parties, and said that "common mind" would dominate the administration in the new party to be established from now on.
They did not leave what they said to the old plane trees of National Vision and insistently suggested that we watch it themselves. We followed this recommendation.
And we watched them carefully. We have always watched carefully who is doing what, who is helping whom, who is digging who's well.
Finally we have come to today.
When we look at the current situation of those who set out together years ago, the picture we saw was quite exemplary.
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was in a state of being abandoned by his friends with whom he set out on the road. Every member of the staff that "just kept watching us" together yesterday was a different leader today.
In other words, three-quarters of yesterday's squad, or in other words, seventy-five percent, was gone! A team that can be counted as one-fourth of that staff continues on the road together for now.
Just like in the first days, they say "keep watching us" again. We continue to follow them by accepting the invitation.
If they continue like this, we fear that the remaining quarter will be in pieces.
Because those who talked about the "common mind" yesterday are complaining about the "single mind", or rather only the mind of the Chief, dominating the administration.
Isn't such an exciting development ever seen? It is also very exemplary to watch that those who tried to divide the National Vision yesterday are divided today.
