While terrorists destroyed the house of a Palestinian prisoner in Nablus with explosives, they also martyred a Palestinian who reacted!
According to the statement made by the Palestinian Prime Minister's Office, Prime Minister Shtiyye met with the European Union (EU) Special Envoy for the Middle East Peace Process, Sven Koopmans, in the city of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.
The duo of Ishtiyya and Koopmans discussed ways to revive peace in the Palestinian issue and a two-state solution.
In the business meeting, "The Israeli government is trying to overthrow the Palestinian Authority and destroy the possibility of an independent Palestinian state by reinforcing illegal Jewish settlements. At such a time, urgent action is needed to preserve the two-state solution option," he said.
Istiyya said that Israel continues its attacks for these purposes, saying that it is working to control borders, crossings and natural resources as well as seizing Palestinian lands.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister praised the efforts of the European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Relations and Security Policy Josep Borrell to revive the Palestinian peace process. Palestinian Prime Minister Ishtiyya also stated that Palestine and the EU are in the same political framework on ending the Israeli occupation, establishing an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital, and the right of Palestinian refugees to return to their lands.
ISRAELI REGIME MARTYRED A PALESTINIAN IN NABLUS
In the meantime, 1 Palestinian was killed and 6 Palestinians were injured in the raid carried out by the terrorist Israeli forces on the city of Nablus in the north of the occupied West Bank. A large number of Israeli soldiers raiding Nablus from various points surrounded the house of Palestinian prisoner Osama et-Tavil in the Rafidiye Neighborhood. When the Palestinians reacted to the raid, the occupying Israeli forces intervened using real and rubber-coated metal bullets in addition to tear gas. In a written statement made by the Palestinian Red Crescent, it was stated that one Palestinian was killed and 6 people were injured, one seriously, in the intervention of the Israeli forces. Many people were also affected by tear gas in the raid. Israeli forces, accompanied by military bulldozers, destroyed Taweel's house with explosives after the events.
Taweel was detained on February 13 for allegedly orchestrating an armed attack that killed an Israeli soldier last year.
Israel implements a policy of demolishing the homes of Palestinians who carried out fatal attacks, and human rights organizations state that this is a method of "collective punishment".
Since the beginning of 2023, Israeli forces have demolished 396 Palestinian homes, leaving 619 homeless.
ISRAELI VIOLENCE CONTINES
Palestinian Presidential Spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudaina reacted to the raid by Israeli terrorist forces on the city of Nablus. Abu Rudaina noted that Israel insists on dragging the region into tension and a spiral of violence with its crimes against the Palestinians. Pointing out that the raid was carried out to demolish the house of the Palestinian, who was arrested for allegedly orchestrating the armed attack that resulted in the death of a terrorist Israeli soldier, Abu Rudaina reminded that Israel's policy of collective punishment in the form of demolishing citizens' homes, blockading the region and murdering the innocent is a war crime under international law.
