In a Saturday tweet, UN Middle East envoy Nickolay Mladenov denounced the Israeli settlers’ killing of Hamdi Na’asan, 38, in al-Mughayyir village, near Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, as “shocking and unacceptable.”

Mladenov called on the Israeli Occupation to “put an end to the settlers’ violence and bring those responsible to justice,”

“All must condemn violence, stand up to terror,” the UN envoy added, offering his “thoughts and prayers” to Na'asan’s family and to the wounded.

British Minister of State for the Middle East Alistair Burt condemned the Israeli settlers’ assault on al- al-Mughayyir village, which claimed Naasan’s life.

Offering his thoughts to Naasan’s family, Burt added in a tweet Sunday, “Those responsible must be brought to justice.”

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Spokesperson Rupert Colville expressed his deep concern over the “protracted and extremely violent attack on Palestinians in the West Bank village of Al Mughayyir.”

“Those responsible for settler violence must be brought to account,” Colville added in a press briefing note on Tuesday.

It is worth noting that a group of Israeli settlers attacked Saturday evening Palestinian workers while on their way home, killing a father of four identified as Hamdi al-Na’asan, and wounding 30 others.

According to OCHA, the average number of Israeli settlers’ attacks against Palestinians increased by 57% in 2018 compared to 2017, and by 175% in comparison to 2016.
