After the social balance compensation rate, which is one of the most important gains of Municipality and Local Authority Workers Association Union (Bem-Bir-Sen) achieved in the 6th Term Collective Agreement, is increased from 100 percent to 120 percent, the Social Balance Agreement is signed in Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality for the first time among the metropolitan cities.

The contract, which will benefit 2,211 civil servants, is signed in the program attended by ‘Bem-Bir-Sen’ Chairman Levent Uslu and Kocaeli Metropolitan Mayor Tahir Büyükakın.

Speaking in the program, Bem-Bir-Sen Chairman Levent Uslu stated that the agreement is a milestone and said, "As it is known, in the 6th Term Collective Agreement covering the years 2022 and 2023, the rate of social balance compensation is increased from 100 percent to 120 percent. Many municipalities have signed and are signing social balance agreements within this framework. However, this contract, which we will sign with Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, is a contract that will set an example for metropolitan cities. Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, Tahir Büyükakın, is the first to sign this contract. On behalf of our union, civil servants and their families, I would like to thank our Mayor and his team, who took the responsibility under these difficult conditions.”

“WE WANT THE BEST FOR OUR EMPLOYEES”

Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tahir Büyükakın said, “As the Metropolitan Municipality, we have always stood shoulder to shoulder with our employees. We have never been stingy at the point of giving their rights and we tried to do the best. We have always been a pioneer and an example among peer municipalities. We have demonstrated this once again in this contract. We tried to do the best we could. It is not possible for us to perform our services efficiently unless our employees, who are our face on the field, are happy. We approach with this awareness. I hope this agreement will set a precedent. I would also like to thank our union representatives. Achieving job peace is a very difficult process. They always provided peace of mind. This peace is reflected in the quality of services and the happiness of the city. Thanks to everyone involved. Congratulations to our civil servants."
