The Greek President Prokopis Pavlopulos ignored the Muslim Turkish minority and used the expression “Muslim Greek minority” during his visit to Western Thrace, where Turks and Greeks lived together for centuries.

The President of the Western Thrace Turks Solidarity Association Lawyer Necmettin Hüseyin explained what the scandalous statements of the President of Greece meant and the pressures made against Muslim Turks in Western Thrace to Milli Gazete reporter Abdussamet Karataş.

Reminding of the Greek flag deputy's Turkish flag tearing, lawyer Necmettin Hüseyin, "You will remember, a flag racist provocation took place in the European Parliament recently by a racist deputy from Greece. The fact that this representative, who has received many punishments for violent crimes during his time as a bouncer, represented a country shows the level of disrespect that our interlocutor fell. Following this incident, Greek President Prokopis Pavlopulos uses the words 'People living here are Greek Muslims' to visit the region where Greeks and Turks live together to receive the title of honorary citizenship. These statements are either insignificant or an attempt to provoke the Western Thrace Turks," he said.

“They are trying to scratch Western Thrace”

"No one to deny our Turkishness was born out of his mother's belly. We are alhamdulillah Muslim and Turkish. Those who try to scratch Western Thrace will first turn and look after themselves. When the Greek government prepared a decree on Turkish schools in Western Thrace, Turks lived there, but aren't Turks live now?" he said.

“THE DEEP GREEK STATE RUNS THE PROCESS”

Expressing that they see the Greek authorities' denial of the existence of Muslim Turks as a result of their understanding of billing Turks, "This process literally takes the Greek deep state. During the period of ex-Prime Minister Alexis Çipras, there was pressure against the Turks, now the new prime minister, Miçotakis, came to pressure," he added.
