The due date for the first installment of the Additional Motor Vehicle Tax (MTV) was determined as 31 August.

Vehicle owners will pay the first part of the installment on August 31 and then deposit the second part in November.

CHP applied to the Constitutional Court for additional MTV, while the court has not announced its decision yet, citizens are watching its decision before paying.

EBS Consultancy Agency General Manager Erol Şahin, who made a statement regarding the decision that went to the Constitutional Court, stated that the tax debt will certainly be paid, and that if it is not paid, there will be no such thing as foreclosure.

"In case of non-payment, interest will be charged based on the current legal delay interest. However, if you want to sell your vehicle or have it inspected during the inspection period, you must pay the debt," Şahin said.

"IF CANCELED, IT WILL NOT COVER THOSE WHO PAID"

Reminding that a similar cancellation has occurred in the past, Şahin stated that in case of a cancellation decision, the citizens who paid will not receive a refund.

"When the same issue was brought to court in the past, there was a rejection decision made by the board of that day. This point is critical, because tax decisions are not retroactive, so if you make a payment, you will not get your money back in case of a possible cancellation, but if you do not pay, you will be subject to a delay penalty," Şahin added.

"JUSTICE DELAYED IS JUSTICE DENIED"

Reminding that the application to the Constitutional Court has not yet been concluded, Şahin called on the Constitutional Court and said, "The Constitutional Court should have made a priority decision on such an important issue that concerns 86 million people. However, our expectation is that it will take a few more months for the decision to be made. In any case, a cancellation decision after the vast majority have paid will have no meaning. Justice delayed is justice denied."
