Thousands of houses were destroyed in the earthquake areas, and thousands of cars were severely damaged.
According to the EBS Consulting research, only 15 percent of the cars in Hatay, Kahramanmaraş and Adıyaman, which were most affected by the earthquake, have insurance.
In other words, 85% of the vehicles will not receive a damage fee.
Erol Şahin, General Manager of EBS Consulting, "Citizens whose region-specific one-time vehicle has been severely damaged and destroyed should be given the right to purchase vehicles without SCT," he said.
After the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes, 10 provinces were seriously affected by the earthquake.
In the provinces affected by the earthquake, thousands of vehicles as well as thousands of houses were under debris or damaged. The number of cars damaged and separated in 10 provinces, especially in Hatay, Kahramanmaraş and Adıyaman, is quite high.
Only in these three provinces, there are 451,438 cars, according to TUIK data. According to some studies carried out in the region, approximately 120,000 cars are unusable.
When we look at the insurance situation regarding the people whose houses were damaged in the region from the cars, which are the homes of the citizens, it is expected that new grievances will emerge in the coming days.
THOSE WHO DO NOT HAVE INSURANCE CANNOT GET THE RIGHT
Emphasizing this new grievance that will emerge in the region, EBS Consulting General Manager Erol Şahin drew attention to the low motor insurance rates, especially in the provinces most affected by the earthquake.
"The rate of no insurance is 85 percent only in Şanlıurfa. Şanlıurfa is also the province with the highest rate of not having automobile insurance. In the light of these data, new grievances will emerge in the coming days. Those who lose their vehicle will not be able to get their rights because there is no insurance. Of course, the status of the policy will also be effective on this," he said.
EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS MUST HAVE THE RIGHT TO LIVE
Calling the citizens in the region to make a special arrangement, Şahin stated that there should not be a new victimization in front of the earthquake victims.
"It is an invisible victimization because the wreckage has not disappeared yet and the size is not clear. Solutions should be put into practice before people are exposed to this victimization. Citizens whose region-specific one-time vehicle has been severely damaged and destroyed should be given the right to purchase vehicles without SCT. It should be a one-time solution to people's grievances," he added.
