Hüseyin Kahraman, Secretary General of the Public Employees Platform of Turkey, stated that the tax system applied to employees puts a burden on both public employees and workers, and he called for the re-implementation of the sliding scale system, which was implemented during the prime ministership of the late Milli Görüş leader Prof. Dr. Necmettin Erbakan.

Expressing that the revaluation rates of tax bracket rates have put serious burdens on both public employees and workers in every update since 2002, Hüseyin Kahraman, Secretary General of the Public Employees Platform of Turkey, stated that they demanded that the problem be resolved as soon as possible and the grievances removed.

“WITH SLIDING SCALE SYSTEM, VICTIMIZATION CAN BE REMOVED”

Underlining the need to make arrangements regarding the tax brackets that go on public personnel and workers, Kahraman said that the problem was solved by the late Milli Görüş leader Prof. Dr. Necmettin Erbakan in the past. Recalling, “The clear update of the tax bracket rates with the revaluation rate since 2002 is a burden on the payroll personnel in terms of tax burden. In this regard, we demand that the tax burden be spread to the base in a fair manner. The loss of wages between January and December in tax brackets should be fixed by fixing the tax bracket. In the past, the sliding scale system, which was implemented during the prime ministership of Prof. Dr. Necmettin Erbakan, should be put into practice again. Thus, grievances can be eliminated,” he said.

“MINIMUM WAGE COMMISSION SHOULD NOT CAUSE DISAPPOINTMENT”

Calling for the implementation of the decisions in the collective agreement that is currently in effect, Kahraman stated that the workers had many demands and said, “Before the upcoming minimum wage determination commission meetings, a wage below the hunger limit, where problems related to working life continue, will be disappointing. We request that the issue be addressed with sensitivity. It is demanded by the workers that the 2023-2024 public framework collective agreement enter into force before the elections.”
