Saadet Party Deputy Abdulkadir Karaduman brought the Treasury support to be sent to the earthquake regions as aid for the general elections and local elections to be held after the earthquakes that stifled the country to the parliament.
Karaduman, who submitted a parliamentary question to the Treasury and Finance Minister Nureddin Nebati's response, said, "What do you expect for the transfer of the Treasury aids to political parties to the disaster victims for the purpose of reducing and eliminating the effects of the disaster?"
After two major earthquakes in 10 provinces centered in Kahramanmaraş, the country was mourned. While the aftershocks continued, cities in the earthquake-hit areas were destroyed.
After the earthquake that shook Turkey deeply, before the upcoming elections, Saadet Party Deputy and Head of Youth Branch Abdulkadir Karaduman brought the Treasury support to be given to political parties for elections to the earthquake zones on the agenda of the Turkish Grand National Assembly.
“DISASTER SHOULD BE LIMITED ASAP”
Karaduman underlined that after the earthquake in which 31 thousand of our citizens lost their lives, there was a serious destruction in the region.
"As a result of the examinations carried out by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, it was determined that 41 thousand 791 buildings in these 10 provinces were demolished, to be demolished immediately or severely damaged. It is estimated that the cost covered by insurance in the earthquake will exceed 4 billion dollars, and the financial burden of rebuilding the infrastructure and superstructure and compensating the losses of our citizens in the disaster will be between 20 and 40 billion dollars. For such a cost, it is necessary to carry out many studies, especially public finance, and to eliminate the effects of the disaster as soon as possible by making a serious budget preparation," he added.
“Why do you wait for the money to be transferred to the disaster victims?”
Emphasizing that the Treasury support to be given to political parties by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance should be spent for earthquake zones, Karaduman said, "The use of Treasury aids to be made to political parties for the parliamentary general elections to be held this year and the general elections of the local administrations in 2024 to reduce and eliminate the effects of the disaster will contribute to the healing of the wounds."
Karaduman then asked the following question to Treasury Minister Nureddin Nebati:
"What do you expect for the transfer of the Treasury aids to be given to political parties in 2023 and 2024 to the disaster victims for the purpose of reducing and eliminating the effects of the disaster?"
