Following the sensational headlines about the purchase of real estate in Northern Cyprus by foreigners, most of whom were Zionists, the TRNC Assembly held an extraordinary meeting and decided to establish a commission to examine the issue. Although more than a month has passed since the decision in question, no statement has been received from the "Land Sales Investigation Commission".

The efforts of Milli Gazete, which put up a valiant fight against the Zionists' purchase of real estate in the TRNC, had yielded the first concrete results.

As a result of our newspaper's effective publications, the issue of foreigners purchasing real estate in Northern Cyprus has found a place at the top of the TRNC agenda.

The TRNC Assembly also held an extraordinary meeting on the issue on August 25.

In the extraordinary session held in the TRNC Assembly, the issue of foreigners purchasing real estate in Northern Cyprus was discussed.

Speaking in the Parliament, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel announced that a precautionary committee had been established regarding foreign property purchases in many parts of the country, from Iskele to Karşıyaka.

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel answered questions in the Parliament regarding the criticisms that occupy the public agenda regarding land purchases by foreigners.

"We do not sit and watch this happen. We did not make a statement, but I am making a statement today. From Esentepe to Karşıyaka, that is, in most parts of the island, foreigners come and buy houses here. I visited all the regions... I saw what was happening up close, and I formed a committee to take immediate precautions," Üstel said.

“LAND PURCHASE DEMAND INCREASED”

Üstel stated that the demand from foreign countries to buy land in the country has increased.

"First of all, this is a fact; There is a distorted structure in our country. Yes, the demand from foreign countries to buy our land has increased. We are working on how we can prevent this. Experts working on the subject in Turkey were also brought. The issue of what the population should be in the districts and the zoning plan will be reviewed and the country will be protected. We can include one or two MPs from the main opposition in the committee to be formed," Üstel added.

WHO IS ON THE COMMISSION?

Although the TRNC government was forced to take a step and announced that a committee was established following the resounding news about the Zionists' real estate purchases in Northern Cyprus, no statement has been made so far from the "Land Sales Investigation Commission".

On the other hand, no information was given about the names of the members of the commission in question.

Milli Gazete, which is fighting for independence for the TRNC, will follow the process from now on, as it has done so far.
