The problems of the farmers in Antalya were brought to the agenda in the program organized by the Felicity (Saadet) Party Korkuteli District Presidency under the title of "The Farmer had a say", in which the problems in agriculture were discussed. In the program, the future of Korkuteli agriculture, farmers' problems and solutions were discussed. Speaking in the program, Saadet Party Antalya Provincial Chairman Ramazan Düzen said, “Wasted agriculture, destroyed livestock, and wrong policies made and carried out in these fields are at the top of the most important real agendas of our country. That's why Anatolian lands are not cultivated enough anymore. Our farmers and breeders are homeless, our producers are forlorn before global companies.”
“SKYSCRAPPERS, ASPHALTES DO NOT FEED”
Noting that the costs are high, Düzen stated that the producer could not continue production against the costs, “Our people are giving up on production because they can't even earn money to make a living. Our people can not eat the products grown in their own land, but condemned to imported products from chickpeas to bulgur, from meat to cheese. Everyone is aware that skyscrapers, asphalt and concrete can not be eaten! If we want to develop as a country, we must first raise our farmers and breeders. We believe that if our producers are supported, Anatolia will start rural development again with production and will make humanity experience the abundance of these lands,” he added.
“WE WILL SUPPORT OUR FARMERS WITH AGRICULTURAL TECHNOLOGIES”
Drawing attention to the fact that the production and import of Genetically Modified Organism (GDO) products will not be allowed, Düzen said, "We will make all of our agricultural lands, which are technically and economically irrigable, irrigated as soon as possible. We will promote and support organic agriculture. We will encourage the domestic production of seeds and prevent foreign dependency in seed production. By improving the meadow and pastures, we will make our farmers benefit from the meadow and pastures free of charge, and we will not allow the meadow and pastures to be used for other than their intended purpose. We will lead data-based studies aimed at providing reliable agricultural data, improving product marketing infrastructure and reducing land fragmentation. We will give priority to rural development and create new employment areas by strengthening rural development. We will remove taxes from all inputs in agriculture and support our farmers with developments in agricultural technologies.”
“WE WILL INCREASE AGRICULTURAL SUPPORT TO SUFFICIENT LEVEL”
Stating that the Saadet Party has goals and regulations regarding agriculture and animal husbandry, Düzen added, “We will prepare a land use plan throughout the country by conducting soil surveys. We will prevent the misuse of agricultural lands. We will make agricultural supports based on inputs and products and increase the supports to a sufficient level. We will prioritize the field of agriculture and animal husbandry as the 'Strategic Sector' and support Research and Development (Ar-Ge) studies that will increase productivity. The use of new technologies in agriculture will become widespread, we will increase unity and integration of agro-industry business. We will support participation and digitalization to strengthen cooperatives.”
