The funeral prayer of Fikret Çay, the former District President of the Felicity (Saadet) Party Çatalca, who passed away, was held at Çatalca Çanakça Neighborhood Mosque, after the Friday prayer.

After the death, which deeply upset the members of the Milli Görüş movement, many condolence messages were published, and one of the names who made a statement was the Istanbul Provincial Chairman of the Saadet Party, Ömer Faruk Yazıcı.
In his condolence message, Yazıcı said, "I learned with sadness the death of our elder brother, Fikret Çay, who was our Çatalca District President for many years in the past. May Allah Almighty make his place heaven. My condolences to his family, friends and our organization."
