In the first hours of 2022, the hike in electricity by 127 percent caused the reaction of the citizens. The government, which took some decisions on the reaction of the citizen who was shocked with the first hiked bill, reduced the kilowatt-hour band gap in electricity bills from 150 to 210. The fact that the government, which is expected to make a regulation regarding the hike, points to March 1 as the date, will cause the citizens to pay the second bill with hike. Citizens reiterating their reaction said, “We paid the first bill with hike, we do not want to pay the second bill with hike. What are you waiting for?"
NO STEPS RELATED TO HIKES
As it will be remembered, it drew attention that energy companies that cut the bills of citizens between 25 and 28 days, cut their bills between 33 and 35 days with the tariff hike in the new year. By delaying the bills, energy companies aimed to cut the citizens' bills with a 127 percent hike, by exceeding the 150 kilowatt-hour limit. Otherwise, the rate of hike in usage below 150 kilowatt-hours would remain at 54 percent. Although the government has partially made a regulation by raising the 150 kilowatt-hour limit to 210 kilowatt-hours, it has not yet taken a step regarding the hikes. This situation will cause new bills to come with hike.
ERDOĞAN POINTED TO MARCH 1
While citizens have been waiting for the government's step to take regarding the exorbitant electricity price hikes for a long time, President Erdoğan made an assessment on the subject. Erdogan said that they are working on a new regulation opportunity in electricity that will be in favor of the citizens, and that they plan to implement this practice as of March 1. Pointing to March 1 for the regulation revealed that the citizen will pay the second bill of the new year with hike.
