Making a press statement at the Diyanet-Sen 3rd Great Turkey meeting held in Kızılcaham, Diyanet-Sen Chairman Ali Yıldız reminded that religious officials are leaders and role models for the society who are assigned to propagate the religion of Islam and teach our beautiful religion to our children.

"Our religious officials fulfill their duties in the most remote corners of our country, under very limited conditions, and represent our state in places where there is not even a headman. In the most difficult turning points of our country and our heartland, in the war of independence, on July 15, and in the earthquake of February 6, our religious officials have always strived for the indivisible integrity of the country and the nation, and the unity and solidarity of our nation, and fulfilled their duties. A group of people who are disturbed by the unity and solidarity of our country see no harm in using offensive language against our religious officials, our Religious Affairs Directorate and our religious values, and they are trying to harm our unity and solidarity with provocative discourses. As Diyanet-Sen, we stood against all kinds of attacks on our religion, religious values and Diyanet under all circumstances, conditions and conjunctures, and we did what was necessary within the law and put everyone in their place. In the future, it is Diyanet-Sen's duty to break the hand that is raised against religious officials," Yıldız said.
