The economic crisis, which started with the restrictions in the covid-19 pandemic, grew even more with Russia's attack on Ukraine. Due to the wrong policies of the government, the external dependency situation in every field is in front of the citizens with exorbitant price increases, while the low-income citizens continue to lose their purchasing power every day.

While the non-governmental organizations reacted after the statements made by the Minister of Treasury and Finance Nureddin Nebati regarding the crisis, “We will conduct an operation against those who have an operation as if there is poverty in the country”, the President of the Consumer Rights Association Turhan Çakar pointed out that the figures are in the middle and said, “The hunger limit and poverty line figures for February announced by ‘Türk-İş’ Union are clear. The hunger limit for a family of 4 is 4,553 Turkish Liras (TL), and the poverty line is 15,140 TL. According to these data, more than 30 percent of the households in Turkey are below the hunger limit, while more than 60 percent are below the poverty line, continues to live. While more than 90 percent of the population lives below both the hunger limit and poverty lines, the Minister's statements are just a falsification of the situation. It is a movement to close and obscure the facts.”

PRICES CHANGES DAILY, LOW INCOME PEOPLE IS BENDING

While a reaction to the statement of Treasury and Finance Minister Nureddin Nebati on poverty came from the President of the Confederation of Independent Public Employees' Unions (BASK), Bayram Zengin, Emphasizing that the economic crisis has continued exponentially since September 2021, Zengin said, "Prices change daily. Low-income people are most affected by this situation. The government should struggle with those who cause poverty instead of deceiving people. The oil, which can be purchased for 64 TL, has increased to 130 TL. The difference hurts low-income citizens. A family's hunger limit exceeded the minimum wage. The amount of raise given to the civil servants for the first 6 months melted before the end of the term."
