The decision taken regarding the studies for 3600 additional indicators for a long time was announced by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan the previous day. While all civil servants are included in the 600 basis point increase, the expectation for the compensation of civil servants below the 3600 additional indicator still continues.
ONLY 60,000 TEACHERS WILL BENEFIT FROM HUNDRED THOUSANDS OF TEACHERS
Although the process seems to have come to an end, one wonders when the deficiencies will be completed. For example, only 60,000 teachers and 411,000 retired teachers will benefit from this arrangement in the Ministry of National Education (MEB), which has 741 thousand permanent and 141,000 contracted teacher personnel. These figures, on the other hand, destroyed the great expectations created about the regulation.
CIVIL SERVANTS AFTER 2008 ARE VICTIM AGAIN
On the other hand, civil servants who started working as a civil servant after 2008, subject to Law No. 5510, cannot benefit from the additional indicator. The pensions of civil servants subject to this law are calculated based on the earnings subject to premium, not according to the additional indicator. So the regulation hardly affects civil servants who became civil servants after 2008.
THE GAP BETWEEN CIVIL SERVANTS WILL BE WIDER
The 600 basis point increase, which President Erdogan announced as good news, was practically ineffective. While 600 basis points are important for civil servants working at 3600 additional indicators or above, it is not beneficial for civil servants working with under the additional indicator of 3600, for example 2200 additional indicators. For this reason, while the pension and bonus of a certain part of the civil servants will increase, the wages of the majority of the civil servants will not change and the gap between the civil servants will increase.
