Six Opposition Parties will gather on January 26, hosted by the Good (IYI) Party. The leaders, who will meet for the 11th time, will discuss who will be the presidential candidate and when it will be announced.

After President Erdoğan announced the election date as May 14 after the cabinet meeting, the pulse of politics rose rapidly, and eyes were turned to the meeting of the Six Opposition Parties will be hosted by the Good Party. The leaders will discuss the presidential candidate and current political developments, especially the snap election date. 
 

SNAP ELECTION WILL BE ON THE AGENDA OF THE TABLE 

 
Six Opposition Parties’ leaders will come together today, hosted by Good Party Chairwoman Meral Akşener. The leaders, who will hold the 11th meeting, will finalize the texts of the Common Policies and Transition to the Parliamentary System Roadmap. In addition, the leaders will discuss the proposals regarding the launch program prepared by the communication commission. Standing behind the previous April 6 decision regarding the snap election date, the opposition will not support the May 14 date specified for the election in the Parliament, and will wait for the President to use his authority. 
 

NAMES FOR THE CANDIDATE WILL BE TALKED 

 
The question of who will be the candidate of the opposition gained great importance with the announcement of the snap election date. The leaders, who stated that they will not announce their candidates unless they enter the election process, are expected to pronounce the names they deem appropriate for the first time, in addition to conveying the opinions of their parties regarding the candidacy at this meeting. In the meeting, where it is stated that the emphasis on the candidate to win may come to the fore, it is foreseen that the joint candidate will be announced to the public at the next meeting. Among the other agendas of Six Opposition Parties, it is stated that the headscarf proposal prepared by Republican People’s Party (CHP) and Good Party will be consulted after the rejection of the proposal by the Constitutional Commission.
