According to the communiqué published in the Official Gazette, the meal support fees paid to civil servants in 2022 vary between 2 lira and 10 lira per day.
Meals above these figures are paid by the civil servants from their own pockets. In institutions that do not have a cafeteria, meal support is not provided at all.
Yusuf Yazgan, Chairman of the union, "When we evaluate the current figures, it has become necessary to update these figures. The numbers are ridiculous. Our officers have now come to the time of taking food with a tucker-bag," he said.
Yazgan said that the civil servants were victimized by the food support, and that the food support of the merciless and ruthless civil servants should be increased.

Noting that only institutions with cafeterias have a state contribution, Yazgan noted that there is no such contribution in many institutions in 900 districts and provinces where food is not served. Yazgan stated that the meal wages should be paid to the civil servants based on the meal wages of the workers.
"Workers are paid in cash, but civil servants are not paid in places where there is no food, and there is no cash payment," he said.
