After the elections, the new cabinet was announced by the government. Vedat Işıkhan, the newly appointed Minister of Labor and Social Security in the cabinet, was paid a "good luck" visit by the Confederation of Civil Servants Unions (Memur-Sen).

During the visit, the amount of increase in civil servants' salaries announced in July and the expectations of public employees were conveyed.

“COMMON WORK WITH THE AUTHORIZED CONFEDERATION SHOULD BE MADE”

During the visit made by the "Memur-Sen" delegation, he conveyed the request regarding the increase of the lowest salary of civil servants, announced by the President before the election, to 22 thousand liras.

Speaking at the meeting, Ali Yalçın, Chairman of Memur-Sen, said, "Wage injustice has occurred among the personnel working in public institutions and organizations, labor peace has been shaken, and the wage balance in the public has been disturbed by the title-based arrangements made outside the collective bargaining table. Before the election period, this situation was brought to the agenda by our President, and it was stated that the minimum salary of public servants would be increased to 22 thousand TL and it would be reflected in retired public officials. The arrangement to be made; A study on which salary items will be made, at what rate it will be reflected in the titles, and whether it will be a percentage or a mobile amount has not been shared with us or the public. Therefore, considering this sensitivity, joint work should be done with the authorized confederation so that the regulation does not cause other grievances."

“INTERVIEW MUST ALSO BE REMOVED AT THE EXAMS FOR UPGRADE AND TITLE CHANGE”

Pointing out that 3600 additional indicators will be given to first-degree civil servants, Yalçın emphasized that the regulation should not be spread over time and stated that the study should be completed as soon as possible.

Yalçın pointed out the efforts to abolish the interview.

"In addition to the abolition of the interview in the public sector, promotion and title change exams that will support career and merit in public employment, increase the efficiency and quality of public service, and increase performance should be held periodically, at most every 3 years, and interviews should be abolished in these exams," Yalçın added.
