The Consumer Rights Association (THD) called for the standardization of arbitrarily determined weights of packaged food and an end to the suffering of consumers.
Speaking to our newspaper, THD Chairman Turhan Çakar demanded an end to the grammatical nature that has been going on for many years.
In the periods when exorbitant price increases are applied to packaged food products, weight reduction is one of the methods that companies resort to.
The lack of a standard regarding weighting also paves the way for companies to arbitrarily weight their packaged products.
This situation is suffered by the consumer, who cannot compare the prices while purchasing the products.
"WE CALL ON THE RELEVANT MINISTRIES TO TAKE MEASURES"
Noting that the weight problem has been increasing in our country for many years, THD Chairman Turhan Çakar said, "We call on the relevant ministries to put an end to the weight quality and chaos and to bring standards to weights. In order for consumers to compare prices and make the right choice in packaged foods, a standard should be set for food weights as 50 grams, 100 grams, 250 grams, 500 grams, 1 kilograms and their multiples. The victimization of the consumer should be put to an end as soon as possible."
