The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) announced the "Income Distribution Statistics" for 2022.

Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the "Income Distribution Statistics" for 2022.
 
According to the “equivalent household disposable income” obtained by dividing the disposable household disposable income by the equivalent household size calculated by considering the household size and composition, the share of the 20 percent group with the highest income from the total income in 2022 is the same as in the previous year. Compared to the previous year, it increased by 1.3 points to 48 percent.
 
The share of the 20 percent group with the lowest income decreased by 0.1 percentage points to 6 percent.
 

AVERAGE HOUSEHOLD INCOME 98,000 TL ANNUALLY, 8.200 TL MONTHLY

 
Annual average household disposable income in Turkey increased by 28.3 percent compared to the previous year and reached 98 thousand 416 liras.
 
Thus, the average monthly income of the family was 8.200 TL.
 
On the other hand, the annual average equivalent household disposable income in Turkey increased by 30.1 percent compared to the previous year, from 37 thousand 400 liras to 48 thousand 642 liras.
 
Gini coefficient, which is one of the income distribution inequality criteria and expresses equality in income distribution as it approaches zero and deterioration in income distribution as it approaches 1, was estimated as 0.415 in 2022 with an increase of 0.014 points compared to the previous year.
 

HIGHEST SHARE FOR SALARY AND WAGE INCOME

 
Salary and wage income, which had the highest share in total income with 46.2 percent, decreased by 0.9 points compared to the previous year.
 
Entrepreneurial income, which increased by 3.5 points compared to the previous year with 21 percent, took the second place, while social transfer income, which decreased by 3.7 points compared to the previous year, was in the third place with 20.2 percent.
 
While the share of agricultural income in the income of entrepreneurs was 19.8 percent, the share of pensioners and survivors' pensions in social transfers was 89.8 percent.
